03. PRE-WEDDING PLANNING

With each of my clients, I customized a timeline depending on their needs. I want to be accessible and use all my knowledge to help my clients have the best experience. I will collaborate with your planner or coordinator and we will make sure your timeline is seamless. Collaborating includes looking over your pinterest boards or other inspiration. I may be the one with the camera, but we are working together throughout the process to ensure a great end product.

THE MORE FILM,
THE BETTER

Film photographs are one of a kind and very close to my heart. In college, I spent so much time in the dark room (where you develop and enlarge negatives into prints). I can still smell the chemicals now!

All of the images on my website are film photographs! Each image is unique. If you are looking for perfection, we are not the right fit, but what you can have with me is real life, captured intentionally, with so much care.

  • My goal is to be a warm place to land. I believe everyone is worthy of care, acceptance, and love. I am honored to work with all people regardless of gender, sexual orientation/identity, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, disability, or economic background. Discrimination of any kind is unacceptable in my business and goes against my core values as a person and business owner.

Integrity, humor, service, high-quality work, kindness, hope, & creativity are the values I look to as a guiding light in my business.

  • During the wedding day, I am photographing digital images on a dual card slot camera, so the images are saved in two places. As soon as I get home from a wedding, I am backing up your digital images on 2 hard drives, and into the cloud they go. Film is handled with so much care and caution. I package the film to send it to Indie Film Lab with an AirTag to track it the whole way to the developer. Once the scans are returned they get backed up in the same places as your digital images.

  • I started my film journey in undergrad at KU. I learned both 35mm and medium format, but it wasn’t until 2020 that I began adding film into my wedding packages. Since then I have grown tenfold and wouldn’t change a thing.

  • I understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. My editing process typically takes 3-4 weeks for couples, families, branding, and lifestyle sessions. Wedding collections can be expected within 8 weeks of your wedding date. I prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations.

  • Absolutely. I strive to be an inclusive and mindful human personally and professionally. You can expect a safe place to land with me. Your love has a space here and deserves to be celebrated. Find more about my values.

  • First thing is first, head to the contact page to fill out an inquiry form. I can't wait to hear what you have been planning. You should hear back from me about scheduling a zoom call to meet within 48 hours.

  • I develop and scan my work via Indie Film Lab. I trust them to offer the highest quality. I have used this lab for the last 5 years, and feel completely confident in their professional quality and love for film.

  • 100%. I will travel wherever your wedding day takes me. I have photographed couples in Massachusetts, New York, South Carolina, Wyoming, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Arizona and Wisconsin! Let’s keep the list growing.

  • Film photography is a time honored tradition with a rich history. I love film because it was my introduction to being an artist. To me, the surprise, joy, and awe, that client’s experience when viewing their images is so refreshing, fun, and artistically fulfilling for me. These one of a kind images are what keep me in the wedding industry.

  • Each of my packages has an estimated number of rolls ranging anywhere between 7-25. For couple and lifestyle sessions the number of rolls range from 2-4. There is a film only option as well!

  • I photograph using both digital and film mediums. Each package in a wedding collection will give you the estimated amount of film I will use alongside my traditional use of digital photography. Ask to see a gallery to understand more about how I switch between mediums.

  • Each wedding day is different, custom wedding packages are available to accommodate for your unique event. Be sure to include you are wanting a custom package in your inquiry form.

READY FOR NEXT STEPS?

I can only take on about 10% of the folks that reach out every year. Please be sure to use detail and care in your inquiry form. Slow down. Be intentional with this process. I urge you to pause with your partner before writing it all down. Take a moment to think over what brought you to this moment and what you are wanting out of your photography experience.
